I still like my MSu Spartan football team but as Bb King would say “the
Thrill is gone.” Fitzgerald is a good coach but he comes with some hazy
baggage that I hold to be his, knowingly,at least in my opinion. TuHis team
as far as the players are concerned is innocent and full of football spirit
but the board of trustees and all the other ugly buisiness of this once fine
university alightnd athletic program has cast shadow so dark that it is hard
to see or enjoy the light.
No matter how many games we win or lose this entire season is going to be
bittersweet for me. Throwing a new coach in and getting our president back
is not enough to make things feel hacompletely right at this point. Time
will have to pass without any ugly occurrences handled inapproprately before
I will feel good about Michigan State again.
I have lived ten minutes away from Michigan State University all my life and
it has always been a big part of my life. The university is truly part of
the East Lansing community and the bond between the community and the
university has always been strong and seemlessly natural. I feel there
has been a betrayel given by the university that has created a type of rift
or a wound that will take a lot of time and good will to allow the healing I
feel is necessary.
